Taylor Swift has been releasing movie poster-esque photos via social media for a few weeks in anticipation for the “Bad Blood” music video, the second single off of her recent 1989. The album officially dubbed her the pop princess that everyone already knew she was, and the video for the single, released during tonight’s Billboard Music Awards, is insanely impressive.
A song that is rumored to be written about a feud with Katy Perry, Swift went all out to make the music video and ended up with a product that Perry could never achieve. The single features new verses from Kendrick Lamar, along with a cigar smoking Lena Dunham, a bazooka-wielding Ellie Goulding, as well as a gaggle of fierce models including Cara Delevingne, Karlie Kloss, Lily Aldridge and the Hadid sisters. Not to mention a sly shoutout to the actresses that Swift named her cats after: Mariska Hargitay and Ellen Pompeo (Swift’s cats are Olivia Benson and Meredith Grey).
Swift’s dedication to her music and her art has always shone through the things she produces, but the music video for “Bad Blood” takes it to a whole new level. The single will be officially released tomorrow, May 19, on Republic Records.
